專業(yè)簡介
英語專業(yè)開設(shè)于1980年,歷經(jīng)傳統(tǒng)人才培養(yǎng)模式、復(fù)合型人才培養(yǎng)模式、模塊化人才培養(yǎng)改革三個(gè)發(fā)展階段,2020年入選安徽省省級(jí)“一流本科專業(yè)建設(shè)點(diǎn)”。本專業(yè)落實(shí)立德樹人根本任務(wù),立足合肥,服務(wù)安徽省,面向長三角,培養(yǎng)適應(yīng)區(qū)域文化與經(jīng)濟(jì)社會(huì)發(fā)展語言服務(wù)產(chǎn)業(yè)和對(duì)外宣傳需要,培養(yǎng)具有良好的綜合素質(zhì)、扎實(shí)的英語語言基本功、較強(qiáng)的語言運(yùn)用能力,較高跨文化傳播能力,能勝任講述合肥故事、安徽故事和闡釋皖風(fēng)徽韻的復(fù)合型、應(yīng)用型人才。
師資與教科研
現(xiàn)有專業(yè)教師 20人,其中教授1人,副教授8人,講師8人;博士2人,在讀博士1人;安徽省教學(xué)名師1人,安徽省教壇新秀1人,學(xué)校認(rèn)定的“雙能型”教師20人,教育學(xué)碩士點(diǎn)導(dǎo)師5人;3人具有國外高校學(xué)歷,9人次曾在國外高校訪問,6次人曾在國內(nèi)高校訪學(xué)。
英語系擁有一批高水平的教學(xué)團(tuán)隊(duì)。1人獲中國外語微課大賽全國決賽一等獎(jiǎng),2人獲省賽一等獎(jiǎng),1人獲外研社“教學(xué)之星”大賽復(fù)賽一等獎(jiǎng),1人獲全國高等院校英語教師教學(xué)基本功大賽安徽省一等獎(jiǎng),1人獲外研社全國高校外語教學(xué)大賽(英語專業(yè)組)安徽賽區(qū)一等獎(jiǎng),1個(gè)團(tuán)隊(duì)獲安徽省“超星杯”智慧課堂教學(xué)創(chuàng)新大賽一等獎(jiǎng)。多人獲得翻譯技術(shù)培訓(xùn)證書、計(jì)算機(jī)輔助翻譯證書、商務(wù)英語核心課程設(shè)計(jì)工作坊證書等。
2016年以來,英語專業(yè)教師共主持省級(jí)科研項(xiàng)目13項(xiàng),省級(jí)和校級(jí)質(zhì)量工程項(xiàng)目24項(xiàng)、橫向課題21項(xiàng),教學(xué)研究項(xiàng)目反哺教學(xué)成效明顯。發(fā)表 CSSCI 期刊論文13篇,其中科研論文11篇、教研論文2篇。在本科學(xué)報(bào)發(fā)表學(xué)術(shù)論文 57 篇,其中科研論文 36 篇、教研論文 21篇。
專業(yè)建設(shè)
英語專業(yè)組建了讀寫、聽說、應(yīng)用翻譯、跨文化與文學(xué)等6個(gè)課程組。課程組深入推進(jìn)《習(xí)近平談治國理政》多語種版本“三進(jìn)”工作,整合線上線下優(yōu)質(zhì)資源,提供有提煉、有深度、有拔高、能拓展的教學(xué)內(nèi)容,并科學(xué)考評(píng)學(xué)習(xí)效果。2016年以來,建設(shè)省級(jí)精品課程、混合課程、教學(xué)示范課10門,校級(jí)線上線下混合課程4門,省級(jí)規(guī)劃教材1套8本。
就業(yè)前景
畢業(yè)生可在政府部門、企事業(yè)單位從事與涉外經(jīng)濟(jì)、商務(wù)、外事、文化等領(lǐng)域的筆譯、口譯、項(xiàng)目管理等工作。模塊化改革后的課程體系更加符合社會(huì)需求,縮短了畢業(yè)生崗位適應(yīng)期。近年來就業(yè)率達(dá)98%以上,位于學(xué)校前列。
部分畢業(yè)生選擇攻讀翻譯專業(yè)碩士、學(xué)科教育(英語)、英語專業(yè)或其他相關(guān)專業(yè)碩士學(xué)位或出國深造,人才培養(yǎng)質(zhì)量兄弟院校認(rèn)可,國內(nèi)高校研究生錄取約占18%。部分畢業(yè)生順利考取上海外國語大學(xué)、西安外國語大學(xué)、外交學(xué)院等外語類院校,以及東南大學(xué)、中山大學(xué)、蘇州大學(xué)、上海財(cái)經(jīng)大學(xué)、南京師范大學(xué)、合肥工業(yè)大學(xué)、安徽大學(xué)等綜合類院校深造。部分畢業(yè)生考研錄取專業(yè)見下表:

專業(yè)特色及成效
英語專業(yè)以課堂作為人才培養(yǎng)的主陣地,以學(xué)生為主體,深化自主學(xué)習(xí)能力培養(yǎng),提高學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)獲得感;重視教師教學(xué)能力建設(shè),促進(jìn)教師職業(yè)發(fā)展。對(duì)照《外國語言文學(xué)類教學(xué)質(zhì)量國家標(biāo)準(zhǔn)》,緊跟國家“新文科”建設(shè)的政策導(dǎo)向,優(yōu)化人才培養(yǎng)方案,形成“能力核心,模塊特色,實(shí)踐創(chuàng)新,強(qiáng)師為本,文化傳播”的發(fā)展路徑。

從社會(huì)需求出發(fā)反向設(shè)計(jì)人才培養(yǎng)方案,重構(gòu)以“能力培養(yǎng)”為導(dǎo)向的模塊化教學(xué)體系,設(shè)置翻譯和比較文學(xué)與跨文化兩個(gè)專業(yè)方向課程,培養(yǎng)具有較高跨文化傳播能力,能勝任講述合肥故事、安徽故事和闡釋皖風(fēng)徽韻的復(fù)合型、應(yīng)用型人才。
以“新文科”為指向,構(gòu)建特色課程體系
建構(gòu)“計(jì)算機(jī)信息技術(shù)基礎(chǔ)”“研究方法”“學(xué)科前沿”“翻譯技術(shù)”等“數(shù)字人文”課程體系,增加專業(yè)課實(shí)踐教學(xué)比例;與語言服務(wù)公司合作,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生語言服務(wù)與信息技術(shù)運(yùn)用能力。
以實(shí)踐教學(xué)為抓手,提升人才培養(yǎng)質(zhì)量
英語專業(yè)強(qiáng)化培養(yǎng)語言運(yùn)用能力,部分課程設(shè)置實(shí)踐學(xué)習(xí)環(huán)節(jié),輔助專業(yè)理論課程教學(xué),鼓勵(lì)自主學(xué)習(xí)和個(gè)性化發(fā)展,發(fā)揮學(xué)生的潛能,落實(shí)跨文化應(yīng)用型英語人才培養(yǎng)理念。2016年以來,多人次在全國大學(xué)生英語競(jìng)賽、外研社杯“演講、寫作、閱讀”大賽、全國口譯大賽、跨文化能力大賽中榮獲佳績,其中國家級(jí)8項(xiàng),省級(jí)60余項(xiàng)。近年獲批 7 項(xiàng)省級(jí)及國家級(jí)創(chuàng)新創(chuàng)業(yè)項(xiàng)目。
英語專業(yè)為社會(huì)各界培養(yǎng)了一批優(yōu)秀杰出人才。王恬(1993屆),現(xiàn)人民日?qǐng)?bào)社新媒體中心副主任、高級(jí)記者;汪之華(1999屆),現(xiàn)任蜀山區(qū)井崗鎮(zhèn)人民政府井崗鎮(zhèn)黨委委員;汪昌松(2002屆),北京理工大學(xué)外國語學(xué)院博士,副教授,碩士生導(dǎo)師;吳婷(2006屆),嘉賓大學(xué)創(chuàng)辦人(The Founder of JIABIN UNIVERSITY),聯(lián)合國全球企業(yè)社會(huì)責(zé)任峰會(huì)“社會(huì)責(zé)任領(lǐng)袖獎(jiǎng)”獲得者;黃宇皎(2007屆),安徽省發(fā)展改革委一級(jí)主任科員;鄭雨軒(2015屆),新西蘭奧克蘭大學(xué)博士,北京第二外國語學(xué)院教師;何婷婷(2021屆),就職于西藏拉薩市公安局。
A Brief Introduction to the Department of English
English Program
Established in 1980, the English program of the Department of English was rated as the “Provincial-level First-Class Undergraduate Programs” in 2020 since the model of talent development has undergone three stages of traditional, compound type of talent and modularization teaching reform. Persisting in the fundamental mission of fostering virtue through education, the program, based in Hefei and in the service of Anhui and the Yangtze River Delta, equips students with a good command of English and abilities to tell Hefei and Anhui’s stories to the world, the charm of Anhui in particular. The goal of talent cultivation is to develop applied and compound type of talents with intercultural competence and international vision.
Staff and Achievements
There are currently 20 professional teachers, including 1 professor, 8 associate professors, and 8 lecturers; 2 PhD students, 1 PhD student currently enrolled; 1 renowned teacher in Anhui Province, 1 rising star in the teaching field in Anhui Province, 20 dual ability teachers recognized by the school, and 5 master's degree supervisors in education; Three individuals hold degrees from foreign universities, nine have visited foreign universities, and six have visited domestic universities.
The program owns a high-level teaching team. Among all the teachers, one won the first prize in the national final of China Foreign Language Micro-course Competition, two won the first prize in the provincial competition, one won the first prize in the rematch of FLTRP’s “Teaching Star” competition, one won the first prize in the National Basic Skills Competition of English Teachers in Colleges and Universities of Anhui Province, one won the first prize in the FLTRP’s National Foreign Language Teaching Competition (English Program, Anhui), and one team won the first prize in Anhui “Super Star Cup” Smart Classroom Teaching Innovation Competition. Many teachers have obtained the certificates of translation technology and CAT training as well business English core curriculum design workshop, etc.
The teachers have undertaken 13 provincial-level research projects, 24 provincial-level and university-level teaching quality projects, and 21 cooperation projects with companies since 2016. Teachers also have published 13 academic papers in CSSCI and 57 papers in undergraduate journals.
Program Development
The program has six teaching groups, including reading and writing, listening and speaking, applied translation, intercultural and literature courses. Taking advantage of online and offline resources of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China, teachers have refined and expanded teaching contents profoundly and effectively. Since 2016, it has offered ten provincial quality courses, mixed courses and teaching demonstration courses and four unversity-level mixed courses as well. The teachers have compiled and published a series of 8 provincial planning textbooks.
Employment Prospect
Graduates can be engaged in translation, interpreting, project management and other work related to international economy, business, foreign affairs, culture and other fields in government departments and enterprises.Thanks to the modularization teaching reform, its graduates are more adaptable to their work, and welcomed by employers. The employment rate has reached over 98%, ranked among the top at Hefei University.
Some graduates pursue a master’s degree in literature, translation, education and other programs with an admission rate of 18%. Some have been admitted for further study by some prestigious universities in China, including Shanghai International Studies University, Xi’an International Studies University, China Foreign Affairs University, Southeast University, Sun Yat-sen University, Soochow University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Nanjing Normal University, Hefei University of Technology, Anhui University, etc.
Characteristics and Achievements
Taking classroom as the main position of talent development and adopting the students-centered philosophy, the program is committed to fostering students’ autonomous learning ability and improving their sense of fulfillment in learning, and to teaching quality, teacher professional development. It has optimized the talent development plan and developed its own path to “competence as priority, modularization, practice and innovation, strong faculty, and cultural dissemination” in line with the National Standards for Teaching Quality of Foreign Languages and Literature and the national policy of constructing “new liberal arts”.
Ability-oriented Education
The department designs its development plan on the basis of job requirements and reconstructs its ability-oriented modularization teaching system, offering compulsory courses in translation as well as comparative literature and intercultural communication, so as to cultivate compound type of applied talents with high intercultural communication ability who are capable of telling China’s story and interpreting the charm of Anhui to the world.
Curriculum System Featuring New Liberal Arts
To develop students’ capability of language service and information technology application, the department has established the curriculum system of digital humanities, including Computer Information Technology Fundamentals, Research Methods, Disciplinary Frontiers, and Translation Technology by increasing the proportion of practice and promoting cooperate with language service companies.
Practice to Improve Quality
The program is devoted to students’ language use. To foster intercultural applied English talents, the program combines theory and practice in many of its courses, encouraging autonomous learning and realizing students’ full potential and individual development. Many students have won 8 national and over 60 provincial awards in the National English Competition for College Students (NECCS), FLTRP Cup Speech, Writing, Reading Competitions, National Interpretation Competition (English) and Intercultural Competence Competition since 2016. In addition, seven innovative entrepreneurial projects at the provincial and national levels have been approved.
